Facilitated by Focal Insights Management and Services, the House of Representatives Committee on Food, Drugs, Administration and Control, yesterday commenced a 3-day National Conference on Drug Abuse, Counterfeiting, and Food Poisoning at Watbridge Hotels and Suites, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The event, themed “Integrating Effective Measures in Curbing the Menace in Line with Global Best Practices,” was declared open by Hon. Regina Akume, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Food, Drug, Administration and Control. She was represented by Hon. Uchena Okonkwo, Deputy Chairman of the Committee.

The Conference was graced by Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, Director-General of the National Agency for Food, Drugs, Administration and Control (NAFDAC), as well as the Director-General of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. M. B. Marwa (rtd.), who was represented by ACGN Matthew Ewah, the Port Harcourt Zonal Commander of the Agency.

Other dignitaries in attendance included CN Udo Nsikakabasi, Akwa Ibom State Commandant of NDLEA; Amb. Olabode Oluwashola, MD/CEO of Focal Insights Management and Services, who also is the Committee’s Consultant; and Mr. Omosanya Wasiu, Clerk of the Committee.

The exquisite Mandela Hall and the state-of-the-art multimedia facilities of Watbridge Hotels and Suites, Uyo, provided the ideal ambience for the success of the event.
