The Akwa Ibom State Government, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, has commenced a 3-day Health Sector Joint Annual Review Meeting at Lord Lugard Terrace, Watbridge Hotels and Suites, Uyo.

The meeting which aims to assess health sector performance, has received goodwill messages from partners, including the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme (ECEWS).

The meeting is being chaired by Dr. Ekem John, Honourable Commissioner for Health, alongside Dr. Martins Akpan, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, and Dr. Eno Attah, Executive Secretary of the Agency.

At the end of the 3-day session, participants are expected to adopt key resolutions that will strengthen healthcare delivery, improve resource mobilization, and align Akwa Ibom State’s health sector with national and global targets for sustainable development and universal health coverage.
